Costa Rica Wonders

Day 1 -When you arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica, we’ll pick you up and transfer you 20 minutes to Hotel Bougainvillea. This is our favorite hotel in San Jose. It is impeccably clean, has 10 acres of gardens, and is in a quiet, residential neighborhood.

Day 2– Your Toyota Yaris manual transmission rental car will be waiting for youwhen youcheck out of Hotel Bougainvillea this morning.Drive 3.5 hours through beautiful countryside to Arenal Volcano and Hotel Arenal Paraiso. These individual bungalows with volcano views provide an upscale rustic atmosphere with privacy.Relax this evening in the hot springs at Ecotermales (includes entrances and dinner). Ecotermales is a private, more intimate hot springs with a natural setting and relaxed atmosphere.

Day 3– Leave your hotel in the morning for a guided hike near Arenal Volcano National Park. Then drive back to the hotel for the Canopy TourFly through the rainforest canopy as you traverse on zip lines from treetop to treetop.In the evening enjoy the hot springs pools within the resort to relax and soak in.

Day 4 – Leave Arenal Paraiso and drive 4 hours to the Central Pacific coast. Hotel Club del Cielohas condominiums within walking distance of the beach, just south of downtown Jaco.It is centrally located for an amazing array of sights and activities. The resort creates a small, intimate setting. Splash and play in the waves or relax and listen to the ocean.

Day 5– Explore the rainforest on foot with a guided rainforest hiketo see monkeys, leaf-cutter ants, macaws, parakeets, iguanas, and many other animals and birds.Wildlife and tropical habitat surround you as your professional guide points out and explains them.Then marvel at huge crocodiles,scarlet macaws,Jesus Christ lizards, andmany exotic birdsand plants on theJungle River CruiseThis tour along a quiet river and mangrove estuaryshowcases Costa Rica’s biodiversity. Relax in the evening at the beach.

Day 6– Relax at the beach in the morning. Then, drive 3 hours back toHotel Bougainvilleain San Jose.Return your rental car at the hotel in the evening.

Day 7– Shoot the rapids through the rainforest on the Pacuare River. This all-day tour includes transportation, breakfast, lunch, snacks, refreshments, guide and all equipment. Travel through canyons and virgin rainforest for 16 miles. The class III-IVrapidsare not rigourous and require no prior experience. With calm sections between the rapids, you can jump in and float in the warm water!This is an unforgettable, magicalexperience!

Day 8– Stroll through the gardens atHotel Bougainvilleauntil it is time to go to the airport.Transfer 30 minutes to the airport and depart Costa Rica.
